With Evergreen Construction’s help, UF now has a 26,000 square foot facility comprised of 20,000 square feet of clinical space and 6,000 square feet of medical shell space designated for future tenant improvements. The clinical space is equipped with sixteen beds, two of which are situated inside of state-of-the-art trauma bays. This well designed and built space also includes triage, resuscitation, respiratory therapy, a decontamination room, a pharmacy, bariatric capacities, STAT Lab, X-Ray center, a CT imaging center, medical gas systems, and an emergency generator.
With significant growth in the number of patients visiting emergency departments, South Lake Hospital wanted Evergreen Construction to increase thier service area and offer convenient emergency care in an area vital to their mission. This beautifully designed 20,000 square-foot center has 18 beds, a lab, helipad and was nominated for an AIA 2019 Award of Excellence.
Evergreen Construction knew that Orlando Health South Lake Hospital needed the same quality measures that are used to improve their doctors’ surgical performance in their new facility. This newly constructed 28,696 square foot facility is located on a large parcel immediately behind South Lake Hospital and was designed with specific program requirements in mind. Interventional program units, four operating rooms of varied sizes with supporting clean core and restricted corridors, as well as two large procedure rooms were constructed. The perioperative environment includes eight pre-operative bays, eight post-operative bays, four-phase II recliner bays, and a five-bed observational unit.
Evergreen Construction provided construction management services for UF Health Leesburg Hospital’s 2nd Floor – 24 Patient Bed Infill. This project was performed in an occupied hospital and comprised of a 24,000 square foot build-out of new space over an existing emergency department. All rooms are fully equipped with headwalls, emergency power, medical gas systems, and ADA bathrooms.
Evergreen Construction had the opportunity to help UF Health build out an existing sterile operating room suite which was also a level IV infection control risk assessment (ICRA) environment. This $1.3 million project included extensive demolition, removal of the existing concrete floor, and installation of a new built-up super flat epoxy system, HVAC, medical gas, electrical, low voltage systems, and interior finishes for GE’s Discovery System with a robotic C-Arm.
This 10,860 square foot facility was built with the idea of making the hospital patients and visitors feel as comfortable as possible during a challenging situation. 10, 860 square feet was built from the ground up and is equipped with seven exam rooms, a state-of-the-art trauma bay, obstetrics room, state-of-the-art trauma bays, triage, resuscitation, respiratory therapy, decontamination room, pharmacy, bariatric capacities, STAT Lab, X-Ray center, CT imaging center, medical gas systems, and an emergency generator.
It takes a superior team to deliver superior cardiac care and Evergreen Construction wanted to ensure UF Health The Villages 5th Floor Cardiac Rehab Center had a superior space to do what they do best. This project included the conversion of 12,000-square-feet of unused spaces, existing offices, and staff lounge to eight new patient rooms. These rooms are fully equipped with headwalls, critical, emergency power, medical gas systems, and ADA bathrooms.
Mid Florida Eye Center is committed to protecting sight with a pledge to serve all and Evergreen pledged to help build a space to support that. This 12,000 square foot, full-service ophthalmology clinic can now serve high-volume patient care caseloads as well as serve an ophthalmological retail space. The building consists of exam rooms laid out in lanes, private consultation rooms, waiting and sub-waiting areas, retail optical store, and executive offices. Highly-energy efficient systems such as roofing, HVAC, glass, insulation, and cladding were used to bring long-term operating costs down and reduce maintenance fees.
To meet the needs of the growing South Lake County communities, Evergreen provided construction management services on Orlando Health South Lake Hospital’s Blue Cedar Medical Office Building. This project included constructing 6,000-square-feet of medical office tenant improvements. This Medical Office Shell Build Out included three suites. Evergreen also provided construction management services for the ground-up construction of the 20,000-square-foot Blue Cedar Medical Office Building itself, under a separate contract.
UF Health Leesburg needed the ground-up construction of this 20,000-square-foot combined clinical practice and medical office space to better serve their growing community. Built on the occupied campus of UF Health Leesburg Hospital, this project was completed in just six months, one month ahead of schedule. This project underwent extensive value engineering by Evergreen, which reduced the cost by $400,000 from the original design. Work included demolition of the existing buildings on the site, relocation of critical medical gas tanks and piping to other buildings, and relocation of the emergency generator. Doubling as a hurricane shelter, this building also includes a chiller plant.
The Venetian Center at Venetian Gardens is a mixed-use community building located in a larger lakeside community park. A 20,000 square foot structure comprised of full-service kitchen, ballroom, meeting rooms/classrooms and restrooms, with sitework that included a new retention pond, lift station, surface parking, pedestrian bridge and extensive landscaping.
Carver Heights wanted to create a strong neighborhood to strengthen the sense of community. Evergreen Construction was able to help accomplish that by developing and constructing an 8,980 square foot, single-story building. A full-service Hospitality Industry Teaching Kitchen and Cafe was added as a second phase. The spacious building includes a convertible conference room/great room, a classroom seating 30, multiple individual offices, a dedicated community computer lab, multiple public bathrooms, a large vestibule area, and ample parking.
Evergreen Construction wanted to help Lake County create a perfect destination for a day’s outing by providing pre-construction services throughout the design phase as well as performing all on-site construction work for the Lake County Volleyball Fieldhouse at Hickory Point. This project consisted of a 3,900 square foot, single-story, volleyball field house, with three locker rooms (male, female, and officials), a training room, four meeting rooms, exterior restrooms, and a concession stand.
Mount Dora Christian Academy Science Center needed a facility that would allow them to continue to “educate for life and eternity.” The Mt. Dora Science and Student Center is a 16,000 square foot renovation and addition to the school’s existing science building. Evergreen Construction designed the science center to be a state-of-the-art teaching lab, which added 6,400 square feet for science labs, a student center, and classroom space. This challenging project site on a hillside included remediation of groundwater intrusion, reinforcement of the existing structure, as well as raising the roofline and ceiling heights by three feet. The project was fast-tracked from the beginning of design through construction. The entire design, permitting and construction took 14 months.
Home away from home. This is what Evergreen Construction wanted to accomplish. Student life is flourishing at Beacon College after Evergreen completed this new 72-bed housing center in a fast track process that included the team making decisions quickly, efficiently, and with the Owner’s objectives as our sole focus.
The athletic facilities at Mount Dora Christian Academy needed a stadium that met the needs of their athletic teams. This was an extremely challenging project as there was a 60ft elevation change from the east to west ends of the project with the field in the middle. The underground water system for drainage below the artificial turf can drain 1 million gallons per minute and keeps the field dry, which was a major problem before and during construction. This premiere project is being recognized nationally for its design.
“Dreams do come true if we have the courage to pursue them,” Lake Tech Executive Director Diane Culpepper said during a ceremony at Lake Tech’s campus. “Our dream is about to become reality, and that’s darn exciting.” This 24,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility offers training for Welding Technology, Advanced Welding, and CNC Production Specialist. It houses 40 welding stations, fabrication area, grinding center, computer lab for blueprint reading/programming, a machine shop with a CNC mill and lathe, knee mill, and other equipment utilized in the machining industry, plus classrooms and gathering spaces for events.
To help keep Ferran Park a destination for many, Evergreen Construction was tasked with building a rapid project for the City of Eustis Lakefront, Ferran Park which consisted of a splash pad, amphitheater, and pool renovation. Evergreen was given a short timeline for pre-construction and worked on value engineering to bring the project in on budget. The work involved building a new splash pad, installing tanks and pumps below the water table next to the lake, amphitheater renovations, landscaping, and resurfacing of the existing pool deck.

Limited budgets and challenging sites are overcome through design innovation and technology. Evergreen gets creative with building systems, site utilization and project approaches to maximize innovation. This project received an AIA Award for Design Excellence.
With Orlando Health’s core mission being committed to medical education, Evergreen Construction renovated two existing vacant buildings into multiple classrooms for use in training Orlando Health employees on their new computer operating platform. Building 1300 now includes a reception area, café, restrooms, and twenty-six individual classrooms. The partitioning between rooms was accomplished with a modular wall system so that the space can be reconfigured upon completion of company-wide training. The exterior stucco façade was repaired and painted, the storefront refurbished, and the existing roof re-coated. Building 1309 was reconfigured to include five large classrooms, restrooms, a break area, and reception. At the completion of training, the building is slated to be converted to a data center. Finally, three modular buildings were erected over an existing dry, retention area to create an additional three classrooms.

Evergreen Construction completed construction on this one of a kind Mellow Mushroom. One of the first Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified restaurants in Florida, the project focused on unique style, renewable material selections, sustainability, minimizing environmental impact, and energy conservation using high-efficiency systems and water-saving equipment.
